CREATION PROCESS

Each Anh Ban! starts with the concept of the design.  From a camo soldier, to an army soldier to a traditional Vietnamese doll, each one starts with the concept drawing (prototype), color scheme, even gender (yes, there are male and female dolls!).
Once the design is drawn, production process can start.
Each Anh Ban! is made from reclaimed wood by local woodworking shop under full supervision of Dung.  Each body piece has to be made to a perfect set of measurements in order to continue the Anh Ban! tradition.
Once the wooden body is made and polished, a primer is applied before the painting process begins.
After the doll is primed, several layers of paint are applied depending on the original design requirements.  Finishing gloss and color scheme are carefully inspected before each doll then passes to the artist's workshop where the final artwork is applied: the face, body pain detail and artist's signature.
Each piece is unique as it is hand made, which is evident when you hold one Anh Ban! in your hands!
Once each doll is completed, it is carefully packaged and delivered to Ho Chi Minh City for all to enjoy.  At this time, you can find Anh Ban! only in Saigon, in a few select locations or in a number of Exhibitions where Anh Ban! may be presented.
We hope you enjoy Anh Ban! and its unique design and story!
